Beach Retreat and Lodge Tahoe

Flashing back to a chilly trip to Lake Tahoe that I went on with my mom and the boys, we stayed at a quiet little resort on the water called the Beach Retreat and Lodge Tahoe. It was a last minute trip the week before Thanksgiving so most places were booked solid. The resort was under construction at the time but we didn’t hear any noise from our lakefront room. The room was smaller but well furnished and had a fireplace and wet bar to add to the ambience. It sat around 300 feet away from the lake, which made for beautiful sunrises and sunsets, even if they were chilly. There wasn’t much snow on the ground but the boys made the best of the patches that we did find on the beach.

We returned again as a last-minute summer trip before school started, again with most hotels fully booked (we’re good at this in Tahoe, ha!) and although it was weird rainy day when we arrived, everything cleared out beautifully for the rest of our trip. The water level on the lake was very low on the South shore, so it wasn’t optimal for swimming but we didn’t spend much time there anyway.

All in all it worked out to be a beautiful location to stay at, and we really loved watching the sunset from the beach and pier. It was very easy to get to other parts of south shore without having to be in the hustle and bustle of the more popular area. We’d definitely return again if we are staying in south shore. I now, have to add Lake Tahoe to this years travel bucket list. I completely forgot it was a place I wanted to visit. Maybe I should just make a travel bucket list, this year already seems full. Love your photos!

You should! Lake Tahoe has something magic for everyone. Thank you for the kind words. 🙂
