How Running Changed My Life

I’ve always been a runner at heart even if sometimes life has had other plans. I’ve been drawn to running since my youth but as an adult I’ve had an on-and-off relationship with running. Although I’ve gone through phases of running on my treadmill, after our big move last year I started exploring our local urban trail. In January of this year I started running outdoors again semi-regularly and after some encouragement from a friend in March I really started to step it up, this time for hopefully the rest of my life. Today I’ve partnered with Subconscious.org, a local non-profit that is fighting the mental health stigma, to share the story of how running changed my life for the better.

5 Things I Learned This Summer

This summer was a whirlwind for me. It was a whirlwind not in the sense that my schedule was jam-packed but in a sense that internally I was struggling. I’m still struggling, but I’m trying my hardest to stay on top of it. Ever since I started taking better care of my whole self my mental health has become a priority. As a result I’ve become more in-tune to the things I need to do in order to keep myself from going back to the place I don’t want to be. I’ve come to some realizations so today I’m celebrating my return to the blog with 5 things I learned this summer.
