I’ve always known of the Clift hotel in San Francisco but since I live so close to the city I rarely have the opportunity to stay the night. Last month I attended a conference in San Francisco with some friends and decided to make it the night that I’d stay at Clift. It’s just down the road from Union Square which is where some of my favorite spots are, so the location is ideal for me.

Every year when our anniversary rolls around I think about a million different gifts or gestures that I could do to try to show my appreciation for the wonderful husband that I have. I think about the years that we’ve spent together, both married and unmarried, and I’m so thankful that I’ve had him as a partner in life for over a decade now. This year I chose to return to the places we spent the best day of our life at, and today I’m sharing it all with you, from packing to adventuring and beyond.
I’ve always heard that Paris hotels can be both pricey and on the small size, so when I started my search for a place to stay I had my guard up. High. I also found quite a divide in aesthetic as some hotels were very traditional or Parisian, and others were more modern and updated. I settled on Hotel Emile in the Le Marais district as it looked updated and more my style (plus, the price was right, ha!).
Last week was one full of sunshine and learning, spent at Alt Summit in Palm Springs, California. After the conference, my friend Sally and I decided to stay at V Palm Springs for a little extra R&R. We spent the day Friday hiking in the Mecca Hills area, and enjoying a delicious dinner at Workshop. After checking out on Saturday we grabbed some goodies to bring home with us from the Art Museum of Architecture and Design (heaven!).
