Destination, Salt Lake City

Destination Salt Lake City, suggestions to eat, see, and do!

I’m on a flight today to Salt Lake City, Utah where I will be speaking at Alt Summit (Can you tell I’m excited?). I’ve already packed my bags and am ready to spend a few days in the city. Do you have any suggestions for things to eat, see, and do there in my downtime? I’m staying an extra day to do a little exploring. I’m looking for suggestions within the city, as I will be staying downtown and don’t have a lot of time to go farther away. Here are some of the things on my list:

  • Brunch at Zest
  • Washington Square
  • Trolley Square (Shopping!)
  • Eat at Martine Cafe

As you can see, my list is fairly short. I really am not sure how much time I will have to explore, but we will be back in the Summer as a family so I can always keep adding to it!

You can follow along with me on this adventure via instagram, twitter, and snapchat (@hejdoll).

Hey Jessica, I came across your picture on Pinterest. This view is soooo beautiful. I was wondering where this was taken? I’m currently looking for a hotel to stay at in SLC that is why. I love your blog!

[…] week we are headed off to Utah for a family Summer Camp. Think about the camp experience when you were young, but meant for entire […]

Ooooo! You are in my stomping grounds! If you are a lover of hot chocolate you HAVE to try Hatch’s Family Chocolates. Best hot chocolate on the planet. Also, if you are going to be in the downtown area try the restaurant Spitz. You will not be disappointed! And if you have the time I would highly recommend trying to get into the mountains!

Thanks ! My SIL and her fam took me to Hatch Family Chocolate last night, after eating at Avenues Proper. They were both delicious!

I went through SLC on a road trip. Even though I am not religious, I highly recommend visiting the Church of Later Day Saints. The architecture and grounds are absolutely beautiful (I’m unfamiliar with it during the winter though). The downtown area is a lot of fun to just walk around too! I hope you enjoy your trip!

Wow – beautiful photos. I have never been to Salt Lake City so this is a great round up of places! Thank you for sharing.

I was in Salt Lake City, last month for only a few hours. but we went to the City Creek Mall, and it was so neat! It’s an indoor/outdoor mall, and we went just after Christmas, so all their Christmas decorations were still up. Definitely visit this mall if you have time.

I haven’t had a chance to explore just SLC, but I flew to SLC to go directly to Ogden. That was quite an experience as it’s out in the boonies of SLC (about an hour drive if I recall correctly) and it definitely wasn’t AS cool as SLC but it was fine! xx adaatude.com

I’ve never been to Salt Lake City but the pictures look like its a beautiful place!! Have a great time!

Besides seeing your family, you might want a visit to the Salt Lake Library or The Church History Art Museum. Both having some cool art to look at. Or the Tracy Aviary or shop at City Creek.

I have a few choice ideas and my thoughts on my Utah pinterest board
But just have a wonderful experience.

Good luck speaking! I’m sure you’ll be great!

I’ve only flew through Salt Lake City but I have a few friends who grew up there and love the food scene!

I’m a dlight attendant and enjoy the food scene in SLC. Les Madeleines is a lovely bakery near The Great American. The kounig aman is popular. I usually order the avocado salad at Zest. Caffee de Bolla is great for coffee also near Les Madelines. Pick up the best malt balls ever at Confiserie Et Boutique – Salt Lake City, UT, United States. Maison. Try the famous Lion House Rolls.

Thanks for all the great suggestions Marla! My mouth is already watering. ????????
