During longer drives SΓΈren usually sleeps, so Aiden occupies his time with other activities and games. Awhile back we got to preview the new game by Dreamworks Animation called Dragons Adventure World Explorer, inspired by the movie How to Train Your Dragon 2. The boys really love the movie and loved the game too, so Microsoft and Dreamworks were nice enough to send along some entertainment for our long drive home from Lake Tahoe.

Normally I don’t condone lots of gaming in the car, but in this game you enter your destination and it will load real-world data to customize your game play. It loads a player’s location, direction in which they are headed, and time of day and transforms it into a personalized Isle of Berk. Weather in the game is influenced by The Weather Channel and popularity data from Foursquare determines the number of Vikings that appear near points of interest. I have to admit, it’s really cool.

Available on select Windows and Windows 8 phone (and higher) Lumia tablets and phones. To learn more information about the game, including how to download, please click here.

The entertainment for our drive was sponsored by Dreamworks and Microsoft but these opinions are all my own. Thank you for helping to support sponsors who make life here at Team Wiking a little bit sweeter.
