Grand Cayman Travel Guide

Grand Cayman Travel Guide, things to eat, drink, see, and do on the island of Grand Cayman

Last year I had the opportunity to visit Grand Cayman. It was beautiful and everyone there was so friendly. As a whole they refer to it as Caymankind. While I was there I don’t think I had a single second of downtime. There was so much I wanted to enjoy, and although I didn’t get to see everything I would have liked to, today I’m finally sharing some of my favorites with you.

Eat & Drink

Jessie’s Juice Bar & Cafe
A healthy way to start your day, or keep it going. Great green smoothies.

Gelato & Co. Cremeria Italiana
Some of the best scoops you’ll find, handcrafted daily. The fruit flavors (seasonal) are my favorite.

Mizu
Wonderful Asian bistro right on the waterfront. The atmosphere is beautiful.

Abacus
The food here was delicious, but what I enjoyed the most was the hand crafted cocktails.

Camana Bay Farmer’s Market
Local farmers and craftspeople, every Wednesday. You have to try the Pepper Jam, it’s delicious!

Ortanique
The ackee fritters saltfish are addicting. So are the crispy breadfruit chips.

West Indies Wine Company
A fun place to taste and socialize.

Barjack at Ritz Carlton
Known for having the best pine-colada. The sliders are delicious as well.

See

Smith Cove Beach
Small and easy to get to beach near town. You can give a nod to Betsey the tourist, but she won’t reply.

Boggy Sand Road Drive
Suggested to me by a local, this one is for the house junkies. Charming caymanian architecture.

Observation Tower at Camana Bay
The 360 degree views are incredible, and so is the tile mosaic and double helix staircase.

Seven Mile Beach
One of the most beautiful stretches of sand I’ve seen.

Cayman Islands Yacht

Do

Botanic Park
Beautiful display of various types of plants. The color garden is my favorite.

Horseback Ride
Catch a ride on the beach with Cayman Horse Riding. Nicki is a wonderful person with well-trained horses.

Stingray City
You’ll need to take an excursion to see this, as it’s a sandbar in the water. It was one of the most exciting and scary times in my life.

Flavor Tour
Excite your taste buds as you move along on this walking flavor tour.

Shop

If you’re looking for shopping, check out Camana Bay. It’s a beautiful outdoor space that brings together local artisans with high-end style.

Ritz-Carlton in Grand Cayman, also known as the sand castle.

Stay

The Ritz Carlton was where I hung my hat, you can read more details here.

Have you been to Grand Cayman? If so, what was your favorite thing to eat, see, or do?

[…] right now is of a warm beach somewhere. October seems to be my month for warm trips including Grand Cayman, Turks & Caicos, Jamaica, and Hawaii. Going from somewhere that is cool to a warmer place […]

The Ritz is sooooo nice! We always stay at the Marriott on seven mile beach and always enjoy ourselves. Can’t beat Stingray City either…one of the best excursion experiences I have ever had. I’ve bookmarked this as there are some places listed here that we will have to try next time. Thanks for sharing!
