I know that it seems early for a holiday season post, but I was outside the other day and when I looked up I saw the geese in the above photo. They’re flying south for the winter, you could almost call it their own little tradition. I know when I see this that it’s time to give up and let Winter and the Holidays settle in.
I want to kick off the season by sharing some of my family’s holiday traditions over the years. A lot of these traditions we share with families all over the globe.

Others we may not, like the Trans Siberian Orchestra concerts that we make an effort to attend, Christmas Eve at my aunt’s house, or the home made creme wafer cookies, peppermint bark, and oreo truffles.
Every year I always look for new little ways to make the holiday season a special time for our family. Lately I’ve been gravitating towards traditions and gifts that involve spending more time together and focusing less on material items. In the past I’ve read The Polar Express book to them and they’ve really enjoyed it so this year I plan to add a personal favorite, a personalized version of The Night Before Christmas.
This year, My Chronicle Books is offering a chance to customize the book with your child’s name, birthday, gender, hometown, favorite pet and name of a family member. You can even write a special dedication message, upload your holiday photo and include your child on Santa’s “Naughty or Nice” list. I think the boy’s will be really excited to see their names in the book. I’m also happy to share that My Chronicle Books is also offering offering 30% off your next order when you sign up to receive weekly newsletters from MyChronicleBooks. Simply enter the code MYNIGHT when you complete the subscription form. Please remember that it takes up to 2 weeks for your book to ship, I’ve already ordered mine!
