This week I’m lucky enough to share about an actual trip I’ve been on. Today I’m sharing some of my best tips for what to pack for an Alaskan Cruise. This was one of the hardest trips I’ve ever packed for and while I did not pack every single item you see here, I probably packed something similar or even overpacked. The hardest part was trying to pack for time on a boat, formal nights, and time exploring sometimes rugged terrain.

Personally, I packed a simple silk robe to sleep in, which also doubles as a pool coverup. Both silk shirts, the robe, and the shorter black dress are super quick to hand wash in the sink and hang dry. I typically wore the lighter jacket on the boat walking around the deck and the warmer jacket during excursions. It rained for most of our trip but our stop in Victoria was quiet warm and downtown was a 40 minute walk from the ship.

Thanks for pack list. I always over pack! Will try to limit packing to the basic comfortable clothes.
What should my husband pack?
Thank you for your assistance.

Bathing suit under blazer — awesome! Heading North come August. Thanks for your wardrobe help. 😉

Hey Jessica,

Great post! You must have come during a cloudy week! I live in Juneau and travel throughout the Inside Passage regularly. Packing for this area is tricky, some days you need shorts and a tank for those 75 degree days, then the next day you need loads of layers and a cup of coffee for when the clouds and rain come. Don’t forget a pair of hiking/walking sandals and outerwear that has some sort of water resistance! Love your choice of earrings. And great basics, every Alaskan has what you packed in their closet!

I live in Alaska. ???? I would probably include a pair of waterproof boots because it’s so boggy/rainy in areas.

Yes! If it weren’t for a cruise and there was more “land” time I absolutely would. I included a pair in my “hiking” in Alaska post yesterday: http://packforwhere.com/2015/08/18/hiking-in-alaska/ 🙂
