A while back, I got to take a tour of the Sunset Magazine Silicon Valley Idea Home and was completely blown away. Designer Lauren Nelson did such a good job, and I fell in love with every room I set foot in. I wished so badly that I could use it as an inspiration to redo our entire home, but luckily, I was able to get some great takeaways on how to do small, tasteful room refreshers with appliances and more. I partnered with Samsung to show some great tips for small spaces and to share things I loved about the Silicon Valley Idea House.

I’ve always been a runner at heart even if sometimes life has had other plans. I’ve been drawn to running since my youth but as an adult I’ve had an on-and-off relationship with running. Although I’ve gone through phases of running on my treadmill, after our big move last year I started exploring our local urban trail. In January of this year I started running outdoors again semi-regularly and after some encouragement from a friend in March I really started to step it up, this time for hopefully the rest of my life. Today I’ve partnered with Subconscious.org, a local non-profit that is fighting the mental health stigma, to share the story of how running changed my life for the better.

To kick off my summer I spent six days adventuring in the stunning Mexican coastal town of Puerto Vallarta. The idea that all of my adventures, photos, and feelings I incurred while visiting Puerto Vallarta would fit into a single blog post is near impossible, but today I’m going to try. I feel most of my recent travels have been transformative, fitting perfectly into this summer for me.
This summer was a whirlwind for me. It was a whirlwind not in the sense that my schedule was jam-packed but in a sense that internally I was struggling. I’m still struggling, but I’m trying my hardest to stay on top of it. Ever since I started taking better care of my whole self my mental health has become a priority. As a result I’ve become more in-tune to the things I need to do in order to keep myself from going back to the place I don’t want to be. I’ve come to some realizations so today I’m celebrating my return to the blog with 5 things I learned this summer.
