I just had my first annual Cupcakes and Champagne party, and it went awesome despite the low level of attendees. Who doesn’t love cupcakes?! The cupcakes were great (to be quite modest) and I know what to do better for next year. So if you plan on coming next year, bring your A game because you’ll need it. I plan to host one of these parties every year because I enjoy throwing parties, and because I more than enjoy cupcakes.

For the 4th of July we decided to stay home this year, largely because our neighborhood has an awesome annual block party. We missed it last year and felt bad, so I didn’t want to miss it this year.
Starting the night before, the kids all decorate their bikes in festive colors. Then the next morning they have a parade up and down the street to kick off the festivities.
Throughout the day each neighbor hosts an event or activity in their yard. Some people just simply set out blankets or toys while others had full bands and water balloon fights. There was even balloon animals and face painting. I think the pinata was Aiden’s favorite part.
Our favorite part was the food, haha. Everyone BBQ’s in their front yard and has a wonderful time. Afterwards we headed to see the big fireworks at Central Park in Santa Clara. They put on one of the best firework shows I’ve seen in a really long time. And it’s the right price, free!
It was definitely a great time and I can’t wait until next year’s 4th of July block party. If we ever move, it’s definitely something that I will miss.
