I took the boys for our yearly trip to Arata Pumpkin Farm in Half Moon Bay, California last Friday. The hay maze was back so I let the boys explore to their hearts content. Søren did not like the minotaur at the start of the maze but quickly forgot about it once we were inside. Afterwards we picked out our pumpkins and headed home. My favorite part about going to Arata’s (or anywhere on the coast) is always the scenic drive home.

The skeleton and goblin sweaters that the boys are wearing were gifted to them by Toto Knits, a wonderful company that empower’s single mothers in Kenya to provide for their family by producing these beautiful organic sweaters. Each piece is hand signed by the knitter and shipped to you (worldwide). To learn more please visit www.totoknitsshop.com.

  1. Oh wow, can’t get over the myst in that very first one! So halloween-y!

  2. That little sad face! As much as it makes me “awww lil guy” for Soren, I just love it. I didn’t realize Aiden went too, for some reason I thought it was just you and Soren who went.

My nephews and I, when I was home in Canada ran through a corn maze. Oh MAN it was so hard to find a way out and you know what else? They had a fake dead scare crow man hunched over in a dead end. I was leading the way out with my youngest nephew and let out a blood curdling scream (I may have over reacted)…and scoooped my nephew up and bolted. He completely laughed at me because he’s seen it before. It scared the crap out of me. Clearly.

OMG at Aiden holding SOREN and Soren’s squishy face in the next pic!!!!

  3. amazing photos! that place looks amazing! Soren’s sweater is so cool!

  4. oh, that sad face photo! he is just too cute. my husband’s grandmother was in town on Sunday and we took her to lunch near half moon bay…duarts? i think its called. agreed…that drive is something beautiful!

  5. Beautiful! Looks like so much fun! I love fall! 🙂

  6. Looks stunning! We loving going to the pumpkin patches, such wonderful memories.

  7. Holy smokes, looks gorgeous and such a fun time! Your pictures just scream FALL!!!!

  8. Cute photos! I laughed at the no smoking sign. Yes, smoking around hundreds of hay bails would be bad news! Lol!

    1. I know right? I had to giggle a bunch. I don’t remember seeing it in previous years.

  9. We went to Lemos Farm this year (also in HMB), and oh my goodness, never again. We went on a weekday in early October and the place was a madhouse. Arata looks a lot more like what I had in mind, as in actual fields of pumpkins. We’ll be sure to check it out next year! (Also, those sweaters are amazing)

    1. Ohhhh, Lemos is ALWAYS packed. We went once for a very dear friend’s birthday party and vowed to go never again. It’s so hard to get in and out of and always so crazy.

  10. Amazing photos. I love the sweaters!

  18. That blue monster sweater is ridiculously cute! It looks like you guys had a pretty fun time (minus those few sad faces!)

  19. What an awesome pumpkin patch/farm that is!! I love visiting those this time of year! <3 Especially the mazes, petting zoos, and hay rides! <3

  20. Those sweaters are amazing! And I love to support a company that does a little more with the money than line their owners pockets. Your trip looks amazing and I’m so jealous because it’s cold here. The face of your little one being scared is priceless!
