I probably started planning (see also: pinning) inspiration for Aiden’s 10th Birthday Star Party long before I really should have. Every year we drive down the main road in our town to see the planetarium laser shows advertised and I learned about their private parties via their website. I asked Aiden if he’d like to have a Star Party and went from there.
I made the favor bags from small muslin bags that I dyed and hand painted constellations on. I filled them with a miniature milk way candy bar, a glow-in-the-dark tattoo from Tattly, a moon squeeze ball, and miniature glow stars.
I ordered the balloons from Amazon because I needed them in a hurry, but I’m sure you can get them for cheaper elsewhere or with a slower shipping speed.
I made Aiden’s shirt using a dark heathered tee, a craft star punch, and my trusty Xyron sticker maker. I just made white stickers out of card stock, but you could probably use any star sticker to make a temporary constellation tee.
I wrapped his gift in black paper and used a white paint pen to draw stars on it. Inside is the book, “This is the Way to the Moon” by Miroslav Sasek.
Please feel free to ask any questions you may have in the comments below. I’d be happy to answer them. I feel like this was one of the more simple parties that I’ve thrown when it comes to planning and DIY. It was nice to not have to worry about a clean house before guests arrived.
