A few weekends back I took a little getaway without the family, to spend a weekend in North Lake Tahoe. My cousin was getting married on a Friday and Aiden couldn’t miss school during the first week, so the kids stayed home with Steve while I spent a little time with extended family. For the drive up Lexus set me up in an IS350 F-Sport, which was not only luxurious, it was a ton of fun to drive. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency in the small town of Incline Village, on the shore of North Lake Tahoe. It’s an area that I haven’t explored much, so I was excited to spend more time there.
I spent a good amount of time in or next to the lake, it always feels so magical during summer months. The rest of my time was spent enjoying good company. My cousin’s wedding was absolutely breath-taking. I’m a little sad I didn’t bring my larger camera to snap a few photos, but I never end up using it anyway out of respect for their big day. One thing that makes my skin crawl is when I see camera phones, iPads, or other people’s cameras in wedding photos. There is nothing like looking at a beautiful photo of the couple walking down the aisle as husband and wife with 30 cameras in the photo to distract you.
It always feels weird to me to travel without the rest of my family, like I’m breaking some sort of rule. After the first day or so I settle right in, and I always feel so much more refreshed (and patient, ha!) when I come back home to them.
I’m so thankful that Lexus provided a car for our trip. To learn more about Lexus and the IS350 F-Sport, please visit their website. Thank you so much for supporting the sponsors that make life here at Team Wiking a little sweeter.
