Packing for Sonoma Wine Country

Packing for Sonoma, a 2 day getaway. My actual packing list, including outfits.

Classic Zipper Tote / Panama Hat / Alpaca Cape (if you’re a short girl like me, get the petite size!) / Asos Midi Dress / Dopp Kit Travel Bag / Everlane Modern Point Shoes / J.Crew Silk Cami / Acne Studios Flex Black Denim

I just returned from a quick trip to Sonoma, California. It’s very close to Napa, and part of the whole Wine Country region. If I get really specific about it, I actually spent time in both Sonoma and Forestville, California (which is about an hour northwest). The weather has been really mild for late Spring, and I’m quite surprised. Usually by now we are having Summer type weather and wishing for an air conditioner. Alas, the two days I spent up North were very comfortable.

I originally packed everything up my trusty Tumi Tegra-Lite suitcase, but quickly realized it was only half full. I moved it all over to my Tumi Alpha Bravo backpack before making it out for my trip.

Day 1
Spent today over at Sunset Magazine’s new test garden at Cornerstone in Sonoma. Toured the gardens, tasted some wine, and browsed some of the most adorable shops there. I fell in love with Nomad Chic, who also has a shop in Todos Santos (near Cabo San Lucas, Mexico).

Afterward I headed over to the Farmhouse Inn in Forestville, California for a little R&R me time.  They gave me a tour of their gorgeous property, and I snapped a few photos for them. There’s a spot in Forestville called Backyard, a farm-to-fork restaurant with a delectable menu. I enjoyed a quiet dinner

I picked up the Alpaca Cape from an event at Cuyana and have been in love with it. I have to admit that I had my doubts about wearing a cape, but it’s so cozy and I feel like I’ve got my own personal blanket wherever I go. Especially since California has decided that Summer won’t actually start until Summer this year.

Day 2
After waking up and having a wonderful breakfast at Farmhouse Inn, I headed over to Oakland to have coffee at Trouble Coffee with my friend Reichel from Copy Cat Chic. After taking care of some business, I headed home back down the eastern side of the bay.

Worn
Panama Hat / Asos Midi Dress / Everlane Modern Point Shoes

I bought the dress back in September of last year, and have just now started to wear it. It’s been perfect for Spring and super comfortable even on the Summerish days.

All in all it was a pretty busy and business-y couple of days. I’m proud of how well my outfits transitioned from business to pleasure and back again. To see some of my other real life packing adventures, see the rest of my In My Bag posts.
