4 Favorite Places in California

It’s not a big secret that I love living in California. Today I’ve partnered with HPx360 to share 4 of my favorite places to visit in our home state of California. My absolute favorite place in California is the beach. You can find any beach along the coast and while some have more perks than others, they’re usually a good time either way. I love to go to the beach during all seasons, but my favorite is spring or fall. It’s not as crowded as summer and since we don’t often swim in the water, it still works out well for us.

A very close second is the coastal redwoods. They are so tall and magical, and unless you’re at a popular park, they’re not very crowded. You can find them all along the coastal areas in Northern California.

My third place came as a surprise to me, as I’d never considered the desert region of Southern California a favorite place since I’m not a fan of hot weather. Once we visited Red Rock Canyon State Park, I was hooked. The rock formations were breath-taking, and luckily we could retreat to a cool car or place to stay in between exploring. We visited during the summer, but I think the Spring would be a perfect time to catch good weather.

And last, but certainly not least, I love our eastern mountain range. Emerald Bay and Lake Tahoe will always be a favorite, in almost any season. In the Winter there are plenty of snow sports to enjoy, as well as hiking year round. The offerings change with the season, from swimming to snowboarding, but we have always enjoyed our time there.

I’d also like to take a moment to introduce the HP x360, a device just as diverse as California’s natural beauty. The x360 can be used in 4 modes; Laptop, Tablet, Tent, and Stand. I love to use the tablet mode when I’m casually browsing, and the laptop mode for when I’m getting more serious work done. It really saves me from lugging around both a tablet, and laptop when we’re on the go.

Can you name four favorite places you love to visit where you live? We’re always on the lookout for new places so I’d love to hear!

  1. ive been dying to head to the desert more – those red rocks are amazing!

  2. When I think of Cali, I only picture the top picture. I’ve never been to north Cali. Sad! It looks beautiful.

  3. Hiking in the Marin Headlands is one of my favorites. I’ve yet to visit the Red Rock area, so I need to do that! 🙂

  4. These photos! I can’t wait to get to California in springtime!

  5. Red Rock Canyon looks amazing! I’m not a fan of hot weather either but I’m keen to explore more of the desert areas. I can’t wait to visit Death Valley. The deserts back home in Australia are massive and require a huge amount of preparation and effort to travel through. I love that the deserts here in California are little and accessible.
Speaking of desert places, you really have to visit Salvation Mountain near Palm Springs. It was the highlight of our SoCal roadtrip over Christmas!

  6. This post makes me want to move to California!!! Wow, the sunshine in the PNW (Seattle) is coveted every day 😉
Found ya via twitter #bendtherules handle. I’m also an influencer on this campaign 😉

  7. Love this- we have so many different landscapes here. TOTALLY agree with your top two: beach and redwoods forever!! 🙂

  8. California has a wide variety of places to explore. I live in Costa Mesa and I am basically an hour from the beach (Santa Monica), snow (Big Bear), and the desert (Palm Springs). I’ve never been to Red Rock and it looks amazing in your photo. Thanks for sharing!
