After all of the excitement for Alt Summit was over, I had an extra day to spend in Salt Lake City. I checked in to my suite at Hyatt House (Surprise, they’re all suites!), and settled in. At first glance the design is clean and modern, but there is much more to it than that. The staff was warm, inviting, and very helpful. The lobby features a lounge area that serves food and drinks, along with a store setup that is full of convenience items. In each room there is a list of items you can borrow from the hotel including: high chairs, curling irons, board games, and all sorts of other awesome stuff.
Once I got to my room, I was a little stunned. I honestly didn’t expect it to be as nice as it was for the price. The room was very spacious with distinguished kitchen, living, bedroom, and bath areas. The finishes were all very nice and I loved the use of space. The TV even swiveled around from the living room to bedroom (seriously, so cool). It gave me some really great small space ideas and reminded me of a fancy room I stayed in during my trip to Napa last year with a similar layout. It provided a peaceful place for me to wind down from the conference, which was what I really needed.
My absolute favorite aspect of staying at Hyatt House was the sensibility. Not only is it price conscious, it’s also practical without losing the quality elements I love about nicer hotels. The kitchen was outfitted with all of the essentials, and what they didn’t have you could request. The couch was cozy and relaxing, and so was the bed. The bathroom didn’t have a tub, but the walk-in-shower area was tiled nicely and the room was well lit. It takes a lot to impress me with a room, but everything was just really well thought out.
I headed to dinner with family, and was back to being cozy in my room before the snow started. When we head back to Salt Lake City later on this year, we will definitely consider a stay here, it felt like a home away from home.
This post was in partnership with Hyatt House in Salt Lake City who was kind enough to host me during my stay, but all words and photos are my own.
