We just returned from a trip to Seattle, so I feel like I have a little more insight for this Travel Light post than usual since I’m not just dreaming about a trip. It was sunny for a couple of days while we were there, but also rained a little too. It was actually more like a heavy mist, and was a little windy down by the water sometimes. We did a lot of walking and stayed plenty warm enough. I wore a light jacket and scarf everyday, and sometimes a hat for sake of not wanting to mess much with my hair.

    You packed really well and I love the different outfit combinations you were able to put together. I’ve never been to Seattle but I’d really like to visit one day!

      Thanks! I find that if you stay within a small color palette it’s easier to mix-and-match items. You should visit Seattle, it reminded me so much of San Francisco (weather aside) except much less crowded and chaotic.

      I don’t know that I have a favorite part yet, I really enjoyed all of it. I wish we could have gone to see more nature type stuff, just didn’t want to do it on the wetter days.

    Hey Jess! I love your blog! I was just reading about what to take to New York and you’ve given me some great ideas! As a born and raised Seattleite, I have to say I love all these outfits, your take on Seattle style is spot on! EXCEPT, real Seattleites don’t even own umbrellas, so if you take a cutesy see-through umbrella, everyone will instantly know you’re a tourist. Instead, make sure you’ve got a cute windbreaker with a hood. We don’t usually use the hood, but at least it makes you look prepared. 😛
