During a recent trip to Downtown Napa, California I had the pleasure of staying at Andaz Napa Hotel. It was my first time staying at an Andaz hotel, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Checking in was very quick and easy, there is no front desk! It was recently named one of the top hotels in Northern California by Condé Nast traveler, and it’s easy to see why.
Accommodations
The andaz loft room was enormous at 422 square feet in size. It featured a separate sitting area, sleeping area, and bathroom. The mini bar was mostly complementary (score!) and the king sized bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in aside from my own. The recent update was done very tastefully, especially the bathroom area. It was done beautifully in eastern marble and featured a walk-in shower. I still dream about the giant bath tub, it was reminiscent of our babymoon suite in Carmel. I probably made more than one comment to my husband about how I’d love this bathroom at home.
Amenities
Most amenities were complementary at Andaz which was refreshing. The included wine tasting was offered in the lobby, along with access to mercantile social and andaz farmers table. The hotel is located in downtown and is very walkable, which also means that there is no pool. The Mercantile Terrace is a beautiful outdoor space featuring ambient lighting and fire pits. The hotel is 100% non-smoking, and only pet-friendly for service animals.
I really enjoyed my time at Andaz Napa and can’t wait to return. I’d love to return to Downtown Napa at some point, perhaps with the family. As for a rating, 9/10 is easily my pick. I had some trouble with the Wifi one night while trying to work, but overall it’s a place I’d recommend and love to stay at again.
