On the first day of our Highway 1 roadtrip we ventured farthest north to Devil’s Slide, then stayed the night in Half Moon Bay.
The next morning our trip down Highway 1 was foggy, something I haven’t been used to during this drive. I normally aim for a nice sunny day, but since we stayed the night in Half Moon Bay the night before, we had to take what we could get. To be quite honest, I don’t mind the fog. It sets a nice tone to the coast and makes it feel more calming than usual. During the drive I stopped at a few turnouts, a coastal access sign, and drove down West (and East) Cliff Drive in Santa Cruz before heading south to Monterey.
