L to R: Merit The Minimalist in Linen and Bisque, Kjaer Weis Im-possible Mascara in black, Merit Bronze Balm in Seine, Merit Shade Slick in Sangria, Merit Signature Lip in Baby.
If you had to guess what a minimalist makeup routine would be, you’d probably guess that they wear none! And while that may be true for some, I feel much better if I’ve got a little something on my face. Today, in partnership with MERIT, I’m sharing my minimalist makeup routine.
As someone who is design focused and minimal, MERIT has been on my radar for awhile. I finally dove in and purchased their Minimalist stick and lipstick in the color “Baby”, two items that have taken me very far. When they reached out to gift me a couple more items needless to say I was very excited. Then I welcomed their Bronze Balm and Shade Slick to the family.
My Minimalist Makeup Routine:
- As a base I start with MERIT The Minimalist in Linen and Bisque to cover any problem areas and even out my complexion. I used to use a beauty blender but have gone back to using a clean finger. These colors have neutral undertones so they work well on me both in the winter and summer. On my quickest days I’ll apply a little around my eyes with some mascara and call it done.
- To add some dimension, next I apply Merit Bronze Balm in Seine along my jawline, under my cheekbones, along my temples, and sometimes a dash in the crease of each eyelid. If I’m feeling real quick I’ll even add a little to my lips.
- For my eyes to pop I’ve recently started using Kjaer Weis Im-possible Mascara in black. It’s a curling mascara so I don’t even need to curl my lashes if I’m in a rush, it does the work for me. Sometimes I do curl them for added drama.
- On my lips if I’m going for a more natural look Merit Signature Lip in Baby is a perfect slightly-darker-than-my-natural-lip-color shade. Otherwise Merit Shade Slick in Sangria gives a nice and non-sticky gloss effect to top everything off.
