I recently went on a little weekend getaway to the coast, and while I know I share a lot of inspiration in my travel light series, I thought it would be fun to show you what I actually packed for a trip and how it worked out. The weather wasn’t amazing on this trip, so we had to cut out a couple of activities that just didn’t work out with gloomy weather. There’s always next time!
In my bag:
AG Jeans Stevie Jeans / Lou & Grey Slouchy Skinny White Jeans / FCUK Flecked Flora Cardigan (c/o, similar by ACNE Studios) / Lou & Grey Popover Shirt (similar) / Lou & Grey Flecked Back-Zip Tunic / Lou & Grey Maxi Dress (old, similar by Raquel Allegra) / Wilfred Marquis Camisole (similar by Equipment) / Emerson Fry Paulo Loafers (sold out, similar by Everlane) / Everlane Modern Point Shoes / J.Crew Panama Hat (lost band) / J.Crew Leopard Cap (old, similar by American Apparel)
Day 1
Drive to Half Moon Bay, explore area and check into Mill Rose Inn. Watch Sunset and eat dinner.
Worn
AG Jeans Stevie Jeans, FCUK Flecked Flora Cardigan (c/o, similar by ACNE Studios), Wilfred Marquis Camisole (similar by Equipment), Everlane Modern Point Shoes, & J.Crew Panama Hat (lost band). See the outfit in action here.
This outfit was perfectly layered for the coastal weather, and warm enough for dinner by the ocean.
Day 2
Breakfast at the B&B, then drive down the coast to Monterey. Check in to Old Monterey Inn and have dinner.
Worn: Lou & Grey Slouchy Skinny White Jeans, Lou & Grey Flecked Back-Zip Tunic , Emerson Fry Paulo Loafers (sold out, similar by Everlane), & J.Crew Leopard Cap (old, similar by American Apparel)
Worked out great for the drive down, and a casual dinner later on. I packed a long sleeve maxi dress but didn’t end up wearing it. I could have changed, but didn’t feel like the dinner location called for something other than what I already had on. I did, however, leave the hat out for dinner.
Day 3
Breakfast at B&B, then check out. Visit with family, drive home.
Worn: AG Jeans Stevie Jeans, Lou & Grey Popover Shirt (similar), & Everlane Modern Point Shoes.
This is basically my ‘uniform’. It works for almost any type of casual setting and I’m most comfortable in it.
Overall, almost all of the items I packed worked well for a 3 day getaway. I didn’t really have to try to travel light, as we were driving and the trip duration was very short.
What are some of your favorite items to pack for a weekend getaway?
