Packing For The Coast

What's in my bag? Packing for a coastal weekend getaway!

I recently went on a little weekend getaway to the coast, and while I know I share a lot of inspiration in my travel light series, I thought it would be fun to show you what I actually packed for a trip and how it worked out. The weather wasn’t amazing on this trip, so we had to cut out a couple of activities that just didn’t work out with gloomy weather. There’s always next time!

In my bag:

Day 1
Drive to Half Moon Bay, explore area and check into Mill Rose Inn. Watch Sunset and eat dinner.

This outfit was perfectly layered for the coastal weather, and warm enough for dinner by the ocean.

Day 2
Breakfast at the B&B, then drive down the coast to Monterey. Check in to Old Monterey Inn and have dinner.

Worked out great for the drive down, and a casual dinner later on. I packed a long sleeve maxi dress but didn’t end up wearing it. I could have changed, but didn’t feel like the dinner location called for something other than what I already had on. I did, however, leave the hat out for dinner.

Day 3
Breakfast at B&B, then check out. Visit with family, drive home.

Worn: AG Jeans Stevie Jeans, Lou & Grey Popover Shirt (similar), & Everlane Modern Point Shoes.

This is basically my ‘uniform’. It works for almost any type of casual setting and I’m most comfortable in it.

Overall, almost all of the items I packed worked well for a 3 day getaway. I didn’t really have to try to travel light, as we were driving and the trip duration was very short.

What are some of your favorite items to pack for a weekend getaway?
