We haven’t been to Napa in a very long time, and since it worked out so well to leave the boys with my mom for our Santa Cruz trip we decided to try another little getaway. I was so excited when I came across the Meritage Resort and even more so when they agreed to partner with us for our stay in Napa. In the end it didn’t pan out as a romantic getaway but we still had a wonderful time at the resort.
Room
We had a superior king patio room for our stay and it was spacious enough, even with our altered plans. The beautiful view was first to catch our attention. Our room overlooked the vineyards behind the hotel and the rows of grapes were aligned perfect. It was nice to watch the sunset in the evening. A bottle of wine was waiting for us and we set it aside for later. The room was clean and the bathroom was enormous which always makes me feel so good to get ready in. Perhaps because ours at home is tiny? One of the smaller details that I noticed was that it was very quiet. I rarely heard any noise coming from the hallway or parking lot.
Amenities
The amenities at the hotel are pretty standard, but there were a few of them that really stood out to me. It was nice to have valet included in the resort fee, and they also offer shuttle service to downtown Napa which is perfect if you’ve had a little wine and want to stay safe. The resort features an ultra lounge with a bowling alley, pool table, shuffleboard, and a cozy fireplace. Siena is their signature restaurant with a Napa terroir-influenced menu. We enjoyed a delicious dinner there and the wait staff was very friendly and patient with the kids. Trinitas Tasting Room is located within a cave on the property and is a nice stop off after hiking around the vineyard trails.
Overall I would give this hotel a 9/10. Service was very friendly and the hotel was immaculately kept. The only thing I really wished for on this trip was a tub in our room so I could indulge a little after chasing the kids and dogs all day.
