When I was in high school I had an exchange student from Japan. His name was Tomoki and he was from Kyoto. I enjoyed our meeting and visit so much that I signed up to go as an exchange student to Kyoto. After the war broke out (I’m dating myself, eek!), my school called off the trip. I’ve always been down when I think about missing out, but since I’m much older now it doesn’t bother me as much.

About a year ago when I saw Nicole Warne’s stunning engagement photos, I knew that one day I would eventually visit Japan. I’d love to go in the Spring during the Cherry Blossom season. Today’s packing list is a bit of a dream of mine, that will someday become reality.

Want to pack even lighter? Nix the cape trench, and opt for the plain white sneakers over the printed ones since they’re more versatile. You could even remove the neutral cardigan and rely on the denim jacket for the entirety of the trip. Depending on the weather, you may want to add a light scarf, or another pair of bottoms (like black denim) instead of a scarf.

See the outfits below, and shop the list above or below.

[…] you need some more inspiration, have a look at this list. There’re some pretty cool […]

Gorgeous blog and love how you curate the outfits! Keep it up 🙂

Thanks for that! Heading there in a few weeks.

I love this packing list, but trust me, you’re going to need a warm wool coat — even in spring. I visited Japan Tokyo last month and my pea coat was a life saver.

Great to know, thanks Monica!
