Last week was one full of sunshine and learning, spent at Alt Summit in Palm Springs, California. After the conference, my friend Sally and I decided to stay at V Palm Springs for a little extra R&R. We spent the day Friday hiking in the Mecca Hills area, and enjoying a delicious dinner at Workshop. After checking out on Saturday we grabbed some goodies to bring home with us from the Art Museum of Architecture and Design (heaven!).
Though we only got to spend one night there, we really enjoyed out stay at V Palm Springs. The room was smaller than one we had at another hotel for the conference, but the service and aesthetics more than made up for it. The hotel just opened around 7 months ago, so all of the finishes are new and decor updated. They left no stone unturned when they chose to remodel the rooms, and you could tell that there was a lot of thought put into every decision regarding design and utility in the rooms. We booked a King Pool View room, and it lived up to the name.
The pool area is smaller, but is well-appointed with cabanas, shade, and a small snack shack dubbed elixir. The staff at elixir were friendly and helpful. A dip in the water revealed that it was warm and comforting, even in the cooler February temperatures. It’s a great no-frills-but-nice-in-all-the-right-places type of place to stay, one of my favorite kinds of places! While I love the ambiance of luxury, I love it even more when used practically without being ostentatious.
Although our stay here was short, I really hope to make it back here one day because I’d love to spend more time in Palm Springs and soaking up the sunshine.
