If I’ve learned anything over the last few years, it’s that black skinny jeans are my best friend. I wear them quite often and they seem to transcend fads and seasons effortlessly. Today I’ve partnered with Old Navy again to share 3 different looks that all incorporate my favorite jeans.

The look above is more casual, with a cozy sweater and flat loafers. I really love the look of the sweater and surprisingly, the length. It makes the outfit feel a little more fancy than it actually is.

This look is a little more elevated and edgy with the addition of boots and a hat. Surprisingly I love the color of the sweater, even though it’s not black (but it’s available, ha!). The cut is really flattering too.

When peplum tops made a big comeback a few years ago I had one or two. They weren’t my favorite. I love that this peplum top is soft and pairs so well with the black denim. It doesn’t flare out too much but still has the same ruffle effect without adding bulk.

How do you wear your black skinny jeans?

I love to wear my black skinnies with a t-shirt and a big tunic sweater or boyfriend cardi. Warm and oh so forgiving during the holidays when I overindulge, and can switch out to leggings once I get home!

Great post. This reminds me I haven’t put my black skinny jeans to use lately. I DEFINITELY need a long line cardigan in my wardrobe.

I love how you styled them 3 different ways! They’re all so cute, the booties are my favorite paring!

xo!

Black skinnies are a definite must for this time of year. I have several pairs find myself grabbing them at least 3 times a week. I love how you’ve styled them with the camel cardigan and burgundy sweater.

Black jeans are a must! Seriously! Loving the all black looks, but the tan duster is my fave!

Lacey

Okay if that black peplum is in stores now… I’m going to go buy it tomorrow. I freaking love peplum’ s and they’re so hard to find. And yay for it being affordable at freakin’ Old Navy. I wonder if I have a coupon for there too (lololol).

Black skinnys are my absolute favorite. All of these are great looks, but the last might be my favorite.

I’m a big fan of your style and writing and have drawn so much inspiration from your Travel Light posts! Having become a more ethically minded consumer this past year, I was excited to see that you share that mindset. So, it’s a bit off putting to see a sponsorship with Old Navy (GAP Inc.)…a company with a terrible sweatshop/human rights/environmental record.
You do mention that you are trying to do your best in this area and I can understand the appeal of sponsors for bloggers- this one just seemed like a bit of a stretch for both your intention to shop better and your aesthetic…
You still manage to look fantastic and would love to see more like this with a more responsible brand.

Hi Jamie! Thank you so much for your input. I completely understand where you’re coming from and you’re very right, the appeal of sponsors is there. It’s not only my main source of income and way to feed my family, but also as a way to keep the blog going and do those other (more feel good) sorts of posts that I have leaned to more. Often I find that while sometimes the companies who are doing better are able to give “free” items, those don’t pay the bills. So it is a very fine-line to walk. Thank you again for reading, know that I value your opinion. xo Jessica 🙂

thought i would have a favorite, but i like them all! they are all classic looks 🙂

Those jeans really look flattering on your body type. I also like that it’s black so you can almost pair it with anything. It’s great that you have found your favorite and perfect jeans. The peplum top looks cute!

I love all these looks, especially the last two I just know they’d be perfect to teaching small people and I’d still feel stylish which is my biggest worry haha! I agree peplum was definitely not a favourite of mine when it was in style a good few years ago, but I do love the relaxed peplum!

I live in black jeans, or skinny black trousers, but this has given me some new ideas
