During our trip to Copenhagen, I was most excited about the shopping. I have to confess that I saved up a good deal of money to spend during our trip, but am also proud to say that I did not spend it all (Thanks, Summer sales!). Almost every store we walked into felt like home for me. I can’t say that about being in the United States. There are some stores where I find a good deal of items I like, but none that really resonate with me to the full extent.
Strøget
Strøget is located in downtown Copenhagen. It was very easy walking distance from our hotel, but at 1.1KM in length, it is one of the longest pedestrian shopping malls in Europe. Don’t be fooled if some of the places seem small from the outside, when we walked into Illum I was amazed to learn it was actually a huge department store / mall type place. Strøget can be a very busy place, so relax and take your time.

Fisketorvet Mall
This mall is located just a 10 minute walk from Copenhagen city center. Our hotel was near so it made an easy walk for us. It has three levels, a good selection of stores (including grocery and beauty supply!), and the interactive map is perfect to get around. There is even a play area and a fish tank that the boys really enjoyed. Fisketorvet is located at Kalvebod Brygge 59, 1560 København V, Copenhagen, Denmark.

Emporia Mall
This is a little outside of Copenhagen, but worth including in this list. To get here you will need to take the train to Malmö, Sweden. It is a 30 minute train ride, but it doesn’t seem that long since the train ride across Øresund bridge (connects Denmark and Sweden) is quite interesting. Photos don’t quite do this mall justice, as it’s architecture seems gravity defying. Emporia is located at Hyllie Boulevard 19, 215 32, Malmö, Sweden.

Shopping in Copenhagen is one of my all-time favorite activities, even if it’s just window shopping. Everything is beautiful. There are obviously a lot more places to shop and enjoy in Copenhagen and Malmö, but these are the places that we were personally able to visit and enjoy.
