San Francisco City Guide

The Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco City Guide. Illustrated by Marie Pottiez.

Every time I think about San Francisco, my heart skips a beat. It comes in a narrow second behind Copenhagen on my list of cities I love. Today I’ve teamed up with my friend Marie to share with you my San Francisco City Guide. This is not meant to be an end-all city guide, but more so to showcase a few places I like in the city I love.

  2. One day I will make it out to San Francisco. I’ve always heard Dolores Park is nice and Dandelion Chocolate sounds right up my alley. How many days do you recommend spending in the city?

    1. It really depends on what you’d like to see. If you want to see ALL of the major stuff, and see smaller more local stuff as well I’d recommend at least 5-7 days. There are lots of other side trips and stuff you can make too to nearby places. There is A LOT to see in and around SF.

  3. San Francisco is definitely one of the places I’d love to visit. And I love those illustrations!

    1. Have a great trip!

  6. Great list (and adorable pictures). I’d have to add the Ferry Building!

    1. Great suggestion. 🙂 I haven’t spent as much time there as I’d like. There’s so much to love in San Francisco, I feel like I’m trying to choose which child I love most!

  7. Beautiful illustrations and great suggestions. We are big fans of Tartine (the original bakery and the new restaurant, too). Our favorite museums are the deYoung and the Legion of Honor.

  8. Imogene

I love the penny arcade Musée Mécanique on pier 45. Also, the Japanese tea garden is lovely. Lots of beautiful flowers and scenery, plus lots of tea and treats to eat inside. Right by the tea garden is the DeYoung Museum which is great to do before or after the tea garden which is right down the road. It’s hard to not have fun in SF, no matter what you do!

  9. Off to San Fran in 4 weeks so this comes at the perfect time! Love it xo
