Since we just returned from a trip to Mendocino County, which is on the Northern Coast of California, I feel like I have a little more insight into this travel light. Most of this is stuff that I actually packed and can vouch for how great it worked out. We did a lot of mild hiking, to the beach or in the redwoods, and other leisurely activities. The flannel can be worn as a light jacket/coverup and tied around your waist when you warm up. My anorak was very helpful when we were out at the windy coastline.
