Packing for California Weekend Getaway

In my bag, packing for a California weekend getaway for a Spring holiday.

We went away for Easter weekend. We didn’t go far, just to visit family. It felt really weird to only pack for a day or two away, so we all shared a single carry-on suitcase. Even for these short trips, I still utilize my travel light method. It makes packing so easy, especially for multiple people and for any length of trip.

Originally the weather was looking to be a bit cool, so I packed a white sweater (worn here), then switched it out for my very favorite black popover shirt when I saw it warmed up. I only packed a few items, so I didn’t do a full list, but you can see them for each day’s outfit.

Day 1
Drive to family’s house to visit. Went to a casual dinner at my favorite Mexican restaurant.

Worn
J.Crew Panama Hat (lost band), Prada Sunglasses, Lou & Grey Supersoft Maxi Dress (similar), Everlane Modern Point Shoes

This dress never disappoints, is very comfortable, and is casual chic enough to wear almost anywhere.

Day 2
We spent Easter Sunday just enjoying time with family. We had a small informal get together with dinner and an egg hunt.

Worn
Lou & Grey Popover Shirt (similar), J.Crew Panama Hat (lost band), Prada SunglassesLou & Grey Brush Up 5 Pocket Pants (so soft!), Everlane Modern Point Shoes

This outfit has some of my very favorite pieces, so of course it worked well. It was comfortable enough and not too casual for our get-together.

Done (Ok, spare toiletries, etc.)!

  2. Liking how you pack and I want to pin all of these images because they look so perfect in these flatlays. I’m currently in the middle of a 24 hour getaway and I love the fact that I didn’t need to bring much. I would love to travel this light all the time. It’s so freakin’ niiiice! xx adaatude.com

  3. Great picks for a relaxing weekend. I love how everything is virtually wrinkle free and how those loafers mix comfort with fancy.
