The Quiet Side of San Francisco

The Quiet Side of San Francisco, a guide to San Francisco's Outer Sunset, Outer Richmond, and Land's End neighborhoods.

I live less than an hour south of San Francisco, but in all honesty I don’t get to spend a lot of free time there. I’m always going up for work events and meetings, but it’s rare that I get to go up for a day of fun. When I do, it’s usually in the Summer and it’s spent on the quiet side of San Francisco, the beach side! Today I’ve partnered with & Other Stories. to share a little bit of my adventure there with my friend Elisabeth and a few of my favorites in that area.

My niece is moving from San Francisco to LA in a few weeks. I need to hurry up and visit one more time! I love the quiet side of bustling cities.

  5. San Francisco seems like such a cool city. I have never been that far west.

  6. I have never been to the West Coast, so no on being at any beach in San Francisco. I love that there’s a quiet side of the beach, that would be the area I would navigate too. I also love how you listed out some places to shop and eat, this will prove to be a great resource for anyone looking to travel that way soon!

This is so awesome, it is great to know the best places!! The photos are amazing too!!

  8. Sad to say, I haven’t been to that part of SF! From some of these pictures, you would never know that you’re in a major city!

Random (probably dumb) question: When you say it aloud, is it “And Other Stories” or just “Stories?” I’ve visited their store in five different countries without knowing, and finally in the last one I went to near Bryant Park the sales girl welcomed us in with a “Welcome to Stories.” This has caused me so much anxiety! 🙂

    1. I always say “And Other Stories” but I don’t know if that’s the proper way to say it, haha.

  9. What a beautiful tour of the city! Very excitingly, after 8 years living in London (originally from New Jersey), I am moving out to San Francisco this Autumn. Terrified, excited, anxious, happy. All squished into one human. Your guide is giving me life; I’ve been more on the ‘worried/anxious’ side to be saying goodbye to London, and this tour of Western SF is helping me to become more excited again. Thank you for this — one I’ll be saving to use next year! x

    1. Congrats on the move! San Francisco is a big place and has so many microclimates and different areas so I’m sure you’ll find a place you feel at home in after your move. 🙂
