Wild times camping in Death Valley. 🏜️

What was supposed to be a relaxing trip turned into something a little more exciting when the winds picked up. We moved camp each night trying to find the best spot for the elements. After leaving wind for a sandstorm for below zero temps we found ourselves right back at our favorite dunes for a little snow and a hailstorm. 😅

I had so many photos planned and ended up taking none of them because of the weather. Sometimes you just have to adjust your plans and give yourself grace when life throws you a curveball (or a few). Either way we made it back in one piece and I’m finally catching up with life again. 🖤

A little video of the solar eclipse as seen from California. I’ve always loved eclipses because they feel like such a forbidden moment in time where two celestial objects that don’t usually meet cross paths. For a brief moment these celestial star-crossed lovers embrace to humble everyone here on Earth. 🌎🖤✨

TLDW: My quick (and satisfying) hack for keeping the lily pollen from staining every surface of your house is to simply use long tweezers to pluck the anther from the filament of the stamen before they start to fall apart. You can even do this before the bud is all the way open. 😅

Or if you still love lilies and don’t want to do this you can choose double lilies and not have this problem. 🥹

Chasing sunsets and moonbeams from my backyard 🌙🌴

It felt only natural to follow a post about an eclipse wine with a photo of the moon. This is the view from our backyard now and I am not complaining one bit. Unless I was looking straight up at our old place the view was of the two story new build homes that surrounded our tiny 1950s rancher. 🙃
