Last month I took a trip with my boys to Monterey, California to catch the last of summer’s warm weather. It was a beautiful weekend and Monterey Tides was kind enough to host us for it. I actually stayed at the hotel when I was in high school during Yearbook Camp, so I was curious to see the updates. During our trip we stayed pretty busy and had a blast, so today I’m sharing the details with you.
My trip was sponsored by Kia.
Though I only spent 48 hours in San Diego earlier this year, Kia made sure that it was so action-packed that I still got a good feel for the city. I stayed in the Gaslamp area but ventured out as well. Today I’m sharing all of the places I experienced during my trip, a few others recommended by friends via instagram, as well as notes about my favorites.

I’ve always known of the Clift hotel in San Francisco but since I live so close to the city I rarely have the opportunity to stay the night. Last month I attended a conference in San Francisco with some friends and decided to make it the night that I’d stay at Clift. It’s just down the road from Union Square which is where some of my favorite spots are, so the location is ideal for me.
Awhile back my friend Jordan over at Oh Happy Day announced a new venture, a pop-up color museum called The Color Factory. Although color isn’t historically my thing, I really appreciate a well-curated design-minded collection so I took my little ones to check it out. They had a blast exploring all of the rooms and it made for some really nice photographs.
