With all of my talk lately about staying in California and exploring more of it, I thought I’d take it back a little bit to our trip last year to Sea Ranch. We drove north along Highway 1 and ultimately stopped at Jug Handle State Beach.
The weather was warmer than expected, and our boys had fun playing in the small stream that runs along the side of the beach to the ocean. They made boats out of found objects and splashed around until the tide came in. After awhile the wind kicked up and we flew some kites, then headed on our way home. We’ve come here before on a separate trip but didn’t make it down to the beach, so I’m glad we did this time. It’s definitely one we’ll return to in the future and a perfect stop along Highway 1.

Do you travel in your own state?
I live on the coast here in NJ where we have a lot of beaches. I haven’t traveled in California but have always wanted to go there and see the beaches.
There are a few places in my home state that I would love to go visit, This beach is absolutely beautiful!

The beach is my happy place, though my beach is not quite as breathtaking as this one. What a treasure!
I haven’t heard about this beach before but it really looks beautiful and makes me want to go there
I’ve not heard of this beach and I’ve been to Cali many time. What a gorgeous location and a place I’m adding to my list to check out next time I head west!
If you wanna travel around and relax your self nothing can be better than beach.
Oh Goodness… the view of the ocean is breathtaking. Oh if I were there… I probably wouldn’t never come home… Those pictures make me want to run… not catch a plane, train or huber… RUN to California! Simply beautiful!
I love how California has it all – forests, beaches, mountains, deserts… so many places all in one state!
Wow, that’s a beautiful beach! It’s amazing the places you find when you just travel around your own area x
I like to travel around my province whenever possible . So many great spots right here in my own backyard
